Delete account

Deleting your account is done from inside the app, and there's no need to write to anyone.

1. The account

Under Profile ▸ Your account ▸ "Delete the account", and you confirm with "Delete".

This deletes:

• the account;
• the copy of your progress that was in the cloud;
• the link to the Somia account (and a Somia account with no apps left linked is deleted entirely);
• your matches.

2. Deleting your account does NOT touch this phone's progress

Removing the cloud copy isn't a punishment for the device: the words you've read, the ones you've saved, the review boxes, and the streak stay on your phone, and you can keep using WordShot without an account. To play online again, you'll need a new one.

3. Everything on your phone

Delete the app. That takes the entire database, your preferences, and the session in the iOS keychain with it.

4. Analytics and announcements

Switch them off in Profile whenever you like, with a toggle each ("Analytics" and "Receive announcements"), and they stop sending anything immediately. Analytics is already off until you turn it on. You don't need to delete your account to switch them off.

5. Deleting your account does NOT cancel the subscription

This is the mix-up that costs people money, and that's why it's here: an active subscription stays active even if you delete your account.

It's cancelled in your Apple account settings, under subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you've already paid for, and refunds are issued by Apple.

6. If you can't open the app

Write to hola@somiadigital.com and we'll do it for you. The same goes if the app tells you it couldn't delete everything on the server. We'll ask for something that confirms the account is yours, and that's all.
